On June 2, 2023, the Chicago Muslims Green Team had a Board Retreat and Capacity Building at the Swallow Cliff Pavilion facilitated by Josh Ellish, SUM Executive Director, a highly experienced facilitator and strategic planner.
The event was followed by community dinner for our volunteers and partner organizations sponsored by the Forest Preserve of Cook County (FPCC). Nina Baki from FPCC led a fun discussion on why we were there and presented recreational offerings in the FPCC.
During the retreat, Board members had an indoor and outdoor discussion focusing on what is working for the CMGT, our focus and goals as an organizations, and the roles of the Board in achieving the goals.
Board Retreat/Capacity Building is an important activity for the CMGT to build a healthy leadership culture. The CMGT greatly appreciate the support from SUM and FPCC, and hoping that this activity can be done annually.
