CMGT at Morton Grove Sustainability Expo

CMGT is grateful to be invited to The Village of Morton Grove Recycling Fest and Sustainability Expo on September 9, 2023. This is inline with our Building Bridge Scope of Work. We actively participate in public events to connect us to broader and more diverse communities in order to exchange knowledge, skills, and to work together in harmony to build a better and healthier environment for all.

At the event, we joined forces with MCC/MEC (Muslims Community Center/Muslims Education Center) Green Committee. MEC is located at 8601 Menard Ave., Morton Grove, IL.

At our table, we displayed posters, Recycled Art and Craft creations (crocheted plastic bags, bottle caps robots), coloring and drawing activities for kids, poster on Tree Ambassador program, free books and other free items for our visitors.

Our volunteers did a great job engaging with visitors at our table. They also did a demo on creating plarns (platic yarns) and crocheted plastic bags for beginners.

Our table is also part of the Recycling Fest where we collected 3 big bags and 1 big box of used plastic bags from Morton Grove residents. We thank Sr. Saba Koya for inviting us and Mayor Dan DiMaria for visiting our table.

We continue sorting and recycling plastic bags we collected at the Fest. More info on our creations will be posted on our, website, social media and showcase at our tabling events.
