On August 14, 2023, President Mohammed Faheem and COO Layalee Beirat took part as panelists at the discussion on “Environmental Justice in Chicago“.
Here is Layalee’s testimonial from the event:
The Parliament of world religions was an amazing experience!
Cultures and faiths from all over the world had attended. Everyone was so welcoming and had so much to offer in regards to working together for a better world.
I had the honor of meeting Jean Bolen, the author of “Like a Tree.” Bolen speaks on the importance of trees and activism needed to achieve tree existence.
I also had spoken with a group of panelist’s on environmental justice.
The panel included Blacks in Green‘s CEO Naomi Davis, Alderwoman Maria Hadden from 49th ward office, President and Executive Director of Faith in Place, Rev. Brian Sauder. The panel was moderated by Rev. Abby Mohaupt, Director of Education & Training from Green Faith.
I believe that great things can be created if we collectively work together. Looking forward to next years event!
