After a long break due to the Covid pandemic, Chicago Muslims Green Team (CMGT) was excited to be able to participate in a community outdoor event. We were grateful to be given the opportunity to set up a table at the 47th Ward Eco Fest on June 18 at Welles Park.

At the event, our awesome volunteers engaged with visitors who were eager to learn about our organization, what we do, and exchange valuable info about our activities.

We were also joined by UIC Heritage Garden to share Monarch kits and free seeds harvested from the garden. We were happy to have Alderman Matt Martin and many like-minded friends stopped by to at our table.

There are so many interesting things to see and to do at the Fest. Caroline from CMGT enjoyed a test drive of an electric scooter, learned how to load a bike on CTA bus, got a free bike helmet from Swedish Covenant booth, picked up free books, and free plants for her garden.

The Eco Fest is a great event for people who are passionate about the environment and eco-friendly lifestyle. Chicago Muslims Green Team is looking forward to participating in the Eco Fest again next year.
