We really enjoyed the 2022 Summer Bonanza event last Saturday, June 25, in Glen Ellyn, IL organized by our partner organization Illinois Muslims Civic Coalition.
Thank you to the Coalition for the invitation, to our volunteers, visitors, and donors. Thank you, Isioma and Ginnie from Faith in Place for joining us. We greatly appreciate all your continuing support for us, for the community, and the environment. We are looking forward to participate in the next event with a better preparation to provide eco-friendly fun activities for kids.
At the event, we collected ideas and suggestions for Green Ramadan and Eco-friendly mosques from visitors at our table. We are happy to read many great ideas as follows:
- Eco alternatives for iftars
- Rainwater collection system to water the grass around the mosque
- Turn off water in between wudhu
- Keep a low flow of water during wudhu
- Alternative to water bottles during taraweeh
- Use solar panels for mosques and plant more trees
