Djeneba has been an active participant in various CMGT programs and events since 2019. She completed a traineeship with the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum of the Chicago Academy of Science – Chicago Conservation Corps (C3) project, becoming an alumna in 2021. In 2023, she commenced her volunteer services with CMGT, notably leading the CMGT Green Ramadan initiative at Masjid Al-Farooq, her community center mosque, which was recognized as the best Green Mosque in 2025. In addition to her Clinical Science background, Djeneba is a passionate and fervent advocate for environmental sustainability, demonstrating a significant interest in recycling and composting.
