CAROLINE K. WILLIAMS

Caroline Kalempouw Williams is the founder of the Chicago Muslims Green Team (CMGT). She was CMGT’s Board President (2024-2025 and 2021-2022) and CEO (2022-2023). She is currently the Tree Equity Program Manager.

She was born and grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia. She is passionate about science, environmental issues, and journalism. She holds a Master degree in Physics from University of Indonesia. She finished multiple training sessions in the field of environment, including C3 (Chicago Conservation Corps), the Climate Reality Leadership training, the Forest Preserve Hiking Leadership training. She is also an Openlands Treekeeper and a certified Chicago Tree Ambassador.

Before focusing on CMGT, she was active as a secretary of DIC (Downtown Islamic Center) Toastmasters Club where she received certification in Leadership and Public Speaking. She also served as a board member of R-Ladies Chicago, an organization to promote R programming language among women. 

In the past, she joined Citizen Science Asia as a Global Ambassador , Faith in Place as a Board member, and became a Documenter for City Bureau. 
In her free time, she enjoys volunteering, writing, collecting stamps, gardening, travelling, hiking, camping, creating art and craft from recycled materials.
